There will be two keynotes and four workshops where the participants – coming from various disciplines – will discuss opportunites, challenges and trends in Digital Health in an interdisciplinary setting. There will also be sufficient time for networking.

Technology Briefing 2019 – Sensors: from academic research to industrial use

Empa, PSI, and CSEM are delighted to invite you to their technology briefing 2019 “Sensors: from academic research to industrial use” that will take place on Thursday November 28, 2019 from 13.30 at CSEM, in Neuchâtel (access map).

The three renowned Swiss research institutes will present the latest innovative solutions and new technologies available in this area. In tomorrow’s world, sensors will be everywhere you turn, forming the heart of the Internet of Things (IoT). Every, machine, car, house or person will be equipped with sensors. These devices will meet every need imaginable, across all industry sectors.

Helping to drive acceptance of such devices on the market, the major Swiss research centers and their industrial partners are already paving the way, by establishing Switzerland’s reputation to provide the variety and reliability of sensors needed for the future.

Damit Künstliche Intelligenz kein Buzzword bleibt – Erfolgsfaktoren für den erfolgreichen Einsatz von KI innerhalb von Unternehmen

Mit der Digitalisierung und der Künstlichen Intelligenz (KI) stehen nicht nur Gesellschaft, sondern auch Unternehmen in fast allen Branchen vor einem grundlegenden Wandel. Obwohl Unternehmen – von Entwicklungsteams bis hin zur Geschäftsleitung- die Notwendigkeit und Benefits der die Nutzung von KI erkennen, erfolgt die gewinnbringende Integration von KI nur zögerlich. Was sind die Gründe?

Die Schweizerische Mobiliar Versicherungsgesellschaft AG hat anfangs 2016 begonnen KI zunächst mit Proof of Concepts für verschiedene Use Cases zu testen und nutzt diese heute in ihren produktiven Systemen. Anhand von Thesen werden Beispielen besprochen mit dem Ziel die Hürden als auch die Erfolgsfaktoren für den erfolgreichen KI-Einsatz zu beleuchten.

The Life Science Zurich Business Network, the Canton of Zurich and the Bio-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich are happy to invite you to the Life Science Zurich Impact Conference –“The Cause of Health” on February 3rd, 2020, at the Technopark Zurich.

Basierend auf den positiven Entwicklungen haben wir uns dazu entschieden, unseren Haupt-Event 2020 wie geplant am 1. Juli durchzuführen.

Nach einer langen Durststrecke freuen wir uns darauf, Sie endlich wieder persönlich an einer unserer Veranstaltungen willkommen zu heissen.

Wir gehen aktuell davon aus, dass keine Maskenpflicht bestehen wird, stellen aber allen Teilnehmern kostenlose Schutzmasken zur Verfügung.

KEYNOTE SPEECH

Der Zürcher Pascal Kaufmann wurde wegen des Erfolgs seiner Firma in eine Reihe mit Elon Musk und Stephen Hawking gestellt. Nächster Schritt: Er will jetzt nichts Geringeres, als das Funktionieren des menschlichen Gehirns verstehen. Bei der Service Werkstatt wird er uns mit einem Impulsreferat in die Welt der künstlichen Intelligenz entführen, mit der Fragestellung: Wie wichtig ist der Faktor Mensch bei künstlicher Intelligenz.

ANNPR 2020

ZHAW will host ANNPR 2020, an international academic workshop on the application of Neural Networks, on September 2nd-4th, 2020 in Winterthur, Switzerland.

This year’s edition is co-sponsored by the Swiss Alliance for Data-Intensive Services to increase liaison with industry. Members of the Alliance receive a 30% discount on all fees. There will be a dedicated industry afternoon on Thursday, September 03, featuring an applied research / industry keynote, applied research presentations and industry exhibits / booths / demos / posters.

Research Topics: Innovation in predictive and generative machine learning methods, with a focus on deep neural networks for image classification and segmentation, object detection, audio & video processing, document analysis, handwritten text recognition, data, web and text mining, bioinformatics, bio-medical imaging, forensics, industrial quality control, predictive maintenance, automation and industrial IoT.

Application areas: Analytics, industry and production, health and med-tech, fintech, insurance, automotive, security, sales, marketing, logistics, power, construction and pharma.
